Digital Discipleship Devotions
We believe by connecting men through the Word of God that our faith will grow, our hearts will be knit together, and we will be able to go to the “Next Level” in our spiritual walk as men, husbands, fathers and mentors to the next generation. Remember that “iron sharpens iron” as we study, learn and grow together. Click on the devotional content below to join in the discussion.

Day 7 - Your wife needs a partner.
Life has taken us on some crazy adventures. We have been fully employed. We have been unemployed working crazy part time jobs with crazy hours to make ends meet. We have moved. We have both been in grad school. We have trained for long distance running. We have been through some ridiculous seasons. What got us through (other than Jesus)? We were both able to depend on the other.
There are days when Jeremy comes home from work to dinner made, set on the table, and the house cleaned. There are also days when Jeremy comes home to a list of ingredients and an empty pan. There have been times when I have spent Sunday afternoons napping. There have also been times that I spent afternoons on a riding lawnmower because that was the only time to get it done and he was coaching some random sport.
Regardless of the season, we have worked together. He knows that if something needs done it will get done. I know that as well. We are a team. We work together and help each other. It is the way we get through some days!
Occasionally, one of us will get a crazy dream for our future. Crazy dreams can disrupt life, add chaos, and cause tears. But, it is often those crazy dreams that God has called us to that have been the most fulfilling. Are you living in a crazy dream moment? Hold your wife’s hand. Offer to make dinner (or fold laundry, or sweep the floor, or whatever) and jump in with both feet. Support her no matter the season or the task that needs done. As you partner together, Jesus will work big things in and through both of you – especially if your talking, praying, loving, and having regular date nights! 😉
Day #7 Scriptures
Ecclesiastes 4:9-12 - “Two are better than one, because they have a good return for their labor: If either of them falls down, one can help the other up. But pity anyone who falls and has no one to help them up. Also, if two lie down together, they will keep warm. But how can one keep warm alone? Though one may be overpowered, two can defend themselves. A cord of three strands is not quickly broken.”
Day #7 Questions
-
How is your partnership with your wife? Is there something else she needs from you, or you need from her? How can you have a conversation with her to talk about it?
-
Can your wife depend on you at all times? Why, or why not?
